Biochar production
Biochar is an excellent product that can be created out of brush that would normally be turned into ash in a regular burn pile, or wood chips from a wood chipper. With my father, I have created many yards of this amazing product throughout the past 3 years. It has a long, stable life in the soil and is an excellent amendment in the garden because of its ability to hold water and nutrients. It is created by quenching a fire before the charcoal can turn to ash, then inoculating the charcoal. We use it on our 5-acre homestead.
Expertise with Raising Poultry
Aside from property maintenance, I have a moderate amount of farming-related experience and have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge that I am willing to share. I have over a decade of raising chickens and 3 years of raising as much as 6 species of poultry under 1 roof. I have figured out how to keep them free range and healthy - and maintained inter-species peace. Some of the birds I have are endangered or exotic breeds.
Domestic Waterfowl are my specialty
I have had many species of waterfowl in the past. At the moment, I have 3 species of waterfowl and have found (in some ways) that they are even easier than chickens!
